Gerhard “Gary” Heim passed away on October 3, 2018, at the age of 83. He was born March 19, 1935, in Sheboygan, WI, to Julius and Hertha (Petersen) Heim. 

Gary was in the seminary at St. Francis in Milwaukee, WI, for 6 years, leaving during his second year of college.  He then took a job at HC Prange Co.  He met the love of his life, Joan Czerwinski, while visiting a friend in Milwaukee.   He was drafted into the army. He married Joan on May 10, 1958, at Fort Sill in Oklahoma prior to being deployed to Germany.

Gary and Joan moved to Green Bay in 1967.  He was a former member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Catholic Order of Foresters.  Gary enjoyed spending time with his honey bunny (Joan), children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family pets.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Joan Heim; children, Terri Trantow (Paul); Julie (Paul) Gutowski, Nicole, Holly (Mark), and Michael (Amy); Mary (Don) DeChamps, Heather (Matt), and David (Samantha); Jim (Alison) Heim, Nicole (Dave), Colin (McKenzie), and Kyle; and Bob (Julie) Heim, Breanna (Alex), Eric, and Mathew.  Gary is also survived by his sister, Mary (Bernie) Knezek; sister-in-law Christine (Dick) Winkowski; brother-in-law John (Dawn) Czerwinski; nieces, nephews, and seven great-grandchildren with one on the way.  

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, John and Frances Czerwinski; son-in-law, John Trantow; and granddaughter, Emily Heim.

Friends and family may gather at St. Willebrord Catholic Church, 209 S. Adams St., on Saturday, October 13, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Military honors will immediately follow the funeral mass.  Rev. Andrew Cribben, O. Praem will preside. Entombment will be in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.prokowall.com.

The family would like to share a special thank you to the caregivers at Woodside Manor 1 and Unity Hospice for the incredible care and support they showed Gary.
