Edward Bernard Charles, 91, died Saturday, September 29, 2018.  He was born August 17, 1927 in Door County, to Alex and Exilda (Burlo) Charles. 

Edward worked over 30 years as a forklift driver for Fort James.  He also worked as a farmer.  Edward loved fishing, cars, playing cards, doing puzzles, watching games shows, listening to the Door County radio station and polka music. Edward was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Parish.

Edward is survived by his wife of 70 years, Beatrice “Bea”; his children; Sanford (Joyce) Charles, Tom Charles, Jeff Charles, Lisa (Bob) Heider; his grandchildren, Megan Charles, Christopher (Angela) Charles, Nicholas Charles, Matthew Charles, Joshua (Rachel) Charles, Jeremy Charles, Elizabeth Heider, Amber Heider; great-grandchildren, Madison and Mason Charles; a sister-in-law, Virgil Charles; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Charles; his parents; his brothers and sisters, Benjamin (Helen) Charles, Clarence Anna (Joseph) Lampereur, Maymie (Joseph) Derenne, Delia Charles.

Friends may call at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 312 Victoria Street, on Friday, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, at the church, with the Rev. Bill Hoffman officiating.  Entombment will be in Allouez Catholic Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Edward’s name.
