Judith Ann Prefontaine, 81, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday morning, June 2, 2018.  She was born on January 20, 1937 in Green Bay to the late Wilbur and Ann (Hoppe) Boucher.  She was at 1955 graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy in Green Bay.  Judith graduated in 1958 from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Oshkosh and worked at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.  Judith married Gary Prefontaine on June 13th, 1959 at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral.  Judith raised her family until 1980 when she and Gary bought a business, Sleepy Hollow Wholesale Florist, which they ran until 2000.  At the age of 63, they retired and enjoyed being “snowbirds” for 14 years in Naples, Florida and made some wonderful friends there.  For 16 years, Judith also made an annual fall trip to Door County with eight of her former classmates from nursing school.

Judith will be greatly missed by her husband, Gary; four children, Scott (Diane) Prefontaine, Susan (Mark) Smith, Steven (Pam) Prefontaine and Katy (Steve) DeVillers; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Boucher; sisters, Ann (George) Corrigan, Mary (George) Stangle; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Jack) Rocque and Shirley (Bill) Boucher.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Ann Boucher, mother-in-law, Norella Forrest and husband Gordon Forrest; father-in-law, Leonard Prefontaine; brother, Bill Boucher; brother-in-law, Richard Fallahee, sister-in-law, Ruth Boucher and brother-in-law, Jack Rocque.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM.  Wake service 7:00 PM.  Visitation will continue at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3009 Bay Settlement Rd., on Thursday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM.  Funeral Mass 11:00 AM Thursday at the church with the Abbot Gary Neville officiating.  Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shephard Mausoleum.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.

Judith’s family would like to thank Dr. Patel at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, his wonderful nurses and her Aurora Hospice Nurse, Alisen for their compassionate care.
