Clarence J. Vanden Avond, 82, Green Bay, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018. He was born August 2, 1935, in Green Bay, to the late Peter and Eleanor (Bins) Vanden Avond. Clarence served in the U.S. Army. On January 29, 1966, he married Lavonne “The Lady” Everard in Champion, WI, she preceded him in death on April 23, 2007. Together they owned and operated a dairy farm in the Town of Humboldt for 41 years. After retirement, he continued his passion for farming by helping neighboring farms and was employed by Ducat Trucking. Clarence and Lavonne enjoyed traveling around the United States, especially Mesa, AZ in the winter. He loved attending car and tractor shows and thresherees, especially the Valmy Thresheree. Clarence was an avid collector of many things, especially Dodge Trucks. He appreciated his many four-legged friends and the company they gave him. Clarence was an avid Packer and NASCAR fan. He always loved the many meals and desserts Lavonne would make. When he wasn’t having home cooked meals, he was enjoying meals at the Village Kitchen. One of his favorite desserts was butterscotch pie.

He is survived by his five daughters, Chris Mueller (fiancé Scott Chervenka), Denmark, Laurie (Rod) Greatens, Sharie (Steve) Vande Hei, Lynn Stein (special friend Jim Bieber), and Sarah (Randy) Allen, all of Green Bay; grandchildren, Lily and Rylee Greatens, Josh (special friend Alexis Stein), Justin (special friend Amanda Mleziva), and Jeremy Vande Hei, Katie Stein, Alex, Eric, and Karissa Allen; Scott’s children, Austyn and Kayla Chervenka; brothers and sister, Harold (Rita) Vanden Avond, Louis (Barb) Vanden Avond, Jack (Suzy) Vanden Avond, and Mary (Len) Hansen, all of Green Bay; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Lavonne; his brother, Ralph Vanden Avond; father and mother-in-law, Eddie and Lillian Everard; along with aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends may gather at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St, on Wednesday, May 30, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday morning at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Rd, from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Viertel presiding. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.prokowall.com.
