Irvin “Irv” E. Lewins, 87, died Thursday, April 5, 2018, of natural causes. He was born January 16, 1931, in Green Bay to the late Henry and Irene (Heraly) Lewins. Irv attended Green Bay East High School and joined the US Army on February 28, 1949 and served until his honorable discharge on July 12, 1952. Following the military, he married the former Carolemae Theresa VanDenack. Irv was employed at Feeco Mfg for many years until his retirement. He then married Joyce Monroe who preceded him in death in 1995.

 He was a member of the VFW Claude Allouez Post 10410, past commander of VFW Suamico Post 9409 and a member of American Legion Post 11. Irv enjoyed going up north to the cabin in Crivitz where he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an avid Packer fan and never missed a chance to dance a polka.

 Irv is survived by seven children: Michael Lewins; Carla Lewins, FL; Randy Lewins, NC; Chris Holmes, PA; John (Toni) Lewins, White Lake, WI; Mark (Hong) Lewins, Krakow and Barbara Jordan, Oneida; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; one brother, Leonard Lewins, Milwaukee; three sisters: Leola Baenen, Green Bay; LaVerne (Jerald) Williquette, Pound, WI and Loretta (James) Konitzer, Green Bay; three sisters-in-law: Retha , Sue and Karen Lewins, all Green Bay; nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Stephen Holmes; one sister, Lorraine (John) Peer; five brothers: Lester, Leland, LeRoy, Larry and Vernon Lewins.

 Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. after 4:00 pm Wednesday, April 11 until time of service at 6:30 pm. Funeral Service 6:30 pm at the funeral home with Dcn Tom Mahoney officiating.  American Legion Memorial Service with military honors, to follow at the funeral home immediately following funeral service. Entombment at Nicolet Memorial Gardens. In lieu of floral expressions a memorial fund has been established in his name.
