Steve M. Perrigoue, 67, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 26, 2018.  He was born on June 15, 1950, in Milwaukee to the late Jerry and Marge (Hussong) Perrigoue.  On Sept. 27, 1984, Steve married his “Honey” Bonnie Burke.  Steve opened Hot Laps Motorsports Bar on April 10, 1997 until his retirement on May 31, 2016, when he passed the taps over to his friend Ron Schultz.  He had an inquisitive mind and quick wit and was proud of the time and effort he put into his monthly Trivia Night, with Jerry Lakes and Ruby Tesch.  Prior to Hot Laps, Steve had many successful years at The Homestead Bar, where he and lifelong friend Steve Bertrand organized and hosted lawn mower races.  The focus of his bars was NASCAR, as he was an avid fan, even writing articles for the Winston Cup Scene.  During his time served on the board of the Brown County Tavern League, Steve attended many conventions and was the recipient of the “Most Valued Member” award.  He loved spending time with family and friends, always doing his best to put a smile on everyone’s face.  Steve’s positive attitude and resilience remained even through six successful bouts with cancer and open-heart surgery, always keeping the troops entertained.  He also enjoyed softball, bowling, golf, pool, sheepshead, origami and making his world-famous chili.

Steve will be deeply missed by his wife, Bonnie; 2 daughters, Heather (Mike) Ackeret and Leanne (Brian) Beaumier; 7 grandchildren, Cassie Skaife, Alex (Keishla) Ackeret, Jude Ackeret, Fletcher Ackeret, Samantha Beaumier, Austin Beaumier, McKenna Beaumier; siblings, Joe (Signe) Perrigoue, Dan Perrigoue (Ed Marrazzo), Toni Burnett, Melissa Perrigoue, Jeff Perrigoue, and Rebecca Perrigoue; sister-in-law, Debra Kriescher; brother-in-law, Wayne Cox; and many other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by a step-brother, Randy Freward; parents-in-law, Adeline and Edwin Cox; and a brother-in-law, Peter Kriescher.
