Carol J. Long, 86, Allouez resident, died Friday, March 9, 2018, at her home following a brief illness. She was born January 8, 1932, in Brussels to the late John and Dorothy (Delfosse) Willems. Carol attended St. Joseph Academy graduating in 1950. She married John Long on January 6, 1951, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Brussels celebrating 66 years of marriage prior to his passing on January 25, 2017. Together Carol and John had eight children, which was a career in itself. After their children had moved on, Carol became a licensed Real Estate agent in the greater Green Bay area for 15 years before retiring. She had a passion for crocheting and sharing her works of art with everyone in the family. Carol and John had a very strong faith being members at Resurrection parish and were inspirational in starting a rosary group at Sunrise Village. She was also very proud of her Belgian heritage and enjoyed sharing their customs and recipes with family and friends. Carol’s family was really her pride and joy and all the time spent with them created memories for a lifetime.   

 Carol is survived by eight children: Jim (Dianne) Long, Baraboo; Jeanine Long; Green Bay; Bill (Jeanette) Long, Sturgeon Bay; Sue (Tom) Forst, Wausaukee; Diane (Tom) Ostrowski, Luxemburg; Barbara (Rick) Heiser, Waupaca; Mary Beth (David) Mork, Ogdensburg and Paul (Kathy) Long, Green Bay; they enjoyed 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; she is also survived by a sister, Audrey Counard, Brussels; two brothers, Cletus (Carol) Willems, New Franken and Dennis (Sandy) Willems, Green Bay; one sister-in-law, Irene May, Sturgeon Bay.

 She was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn (Arnie) Grovogel; a brother, Leland (Rose) Willems; a brother-in-law, Francis (Dorothy) Long and three sisters-in-law, Marie Schauer, Helen Small and Theresa Brunswick.

 Friends may call at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop, after 9:00 am Wednesday, March 14, until time of Mass. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Wednesday at the church with Fr. Tim Shillcox, O.Praem officiating. Burial in the Allouez Catholic Cemetery.

 Carol’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Bishop Robert Morneau, the staff of Sunrise Village, Deacon John Laurent and Dr. James Williams, as well as the nurses and staff from Heartland Hospice for their warmth and compassion in Carol’s final days.
