Robert F. "Bob" Borucki

Robert F. “Bob” Borucki, 85, of Green Bay passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 6, 2018.  He was born November 27, 1932, in Manitowoc, to Frank and Caroline (Nedvecki) Borucki.

Bob was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Class of 1950.  In 1953, Bob was drafted by the United States Army and served at Drew Air Force Base in France, during the Korean War.  On August 6, 1955, Bob married Patricia Terens at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manitowoc.  Bob attended Manitowoc Teachers College and later attended U.W. Oshkosh where he received his bachelor’s degree in education.  Bob also attended U.W. Madison and received his master’s degree in school administration.  He was a 6th grade teacher at Preble High School. Later, he worked as a teaching principal at Eisenhower Elementary School, and as principal at Baird Elementary School.  Bob worked as Director of Elementary Schools for the Green Bay Board of Education, and later as Assistant Superintendent until his retirement in 1994.  Following retirement, Bob (and Pat) volunteered in patient services at Aurora BayCare Medical Center.  Every Friday he enjoyed entertaining patients and staff by sharing his musical talent while playing the piano in the atrium.

Bob’s favorite past time was camping at Crystal Lake near Minocqua.  He loved to spend his time woodworking, completing do-it-yourself projects, playing cards, fishing for bluegills, biking, and traveling to see his family. Bob was an avid Packers, Bucks, Brewers, and Badgers fan.   

Bob is survived by his wife, Pat; his children and their spouses, Sue (Steve) Ottum, Sara (Rob) Fabry, Gregg (Ann) Borucki; his grandchildren, Jenny (Brian) Olson, Keith Ottum, Brennan Fabry, Dominick Fabry; one great-grandchild, Kierra Olson; many nieces and nephews, especially his niece Pam (Rod) Hiller, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Richard Borucki; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Marie Terens; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Tippy (Donald) Terens, Fred (Janet) Terens.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street, on Friday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.  A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Hoffman officiating.  On-line condolences may be sent to family at www.prokowall.com.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Bob’s name to benefit the Aurora BayCare Medical Center Volunteers, and the Crystal Lake Nature Center.

Bob’s family would like to extend a special word of thanks to the Green Bay Police, the staff of Aurora BayCare Medical Center ER and CCU, and the wonderful support of the volunteer family.
