Douglas G. Elsner, 87, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 08, 2018.  He was born February 19, 1930, in Green Bay to the late Vilas and Vera (Brunner) Elsner.

Douglas served his country in the United States Air Force and was stationed on the Island of Okinawa and later in Korea.  On April 19, 1952 he married Mildred G. Steebs at Zion Lutheran Church in Eland, Wisconsin.  Douglas worked as a traveling salesman for O & E Machine for many years retiring in 1995.  In his years of sales Douglas was fortunate enough to travel and see much of the world.  Douglas was a member of the Masonic Lodge Washington #21.  He was Past Master of the lodge in 1978.  He was also member of the VFW Bellevue Post #9677 and was a life member of The Woods Golf Club where he was a member of the “Golfing Gourmets”.  He was the first member to be inducted as an honorary member of the club’s Hall of Fame.  Douglas loved trout fishing, stream fishing, deer hunting, and card playing.  After his retirement he loved spending his time as a grandpa and great-grandpa and being with Mildred.

He is survived by his four children, Gregory (Carmen) Elsner, Belleville, IL; Steven (Sharon) Elsner and Scott (June) Elsner, all of Green Bay and Todd (Julie) Elsner, Crivitz; daughter-in-law, Claudia Elsner, De Pere; eight grandchildren, Stephanie (Matthew) Kobylarczyk, Justin (Becky) Elsner, Ashley Elsner (fiancé Peter Wallander), Dana Elsner, Derek Elsner and special friend, Corrie Alsleben, Connor Elsner, Austin Elsner, and Anna Elsner; five great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Brielle Kobylarczyk, Kaitlynn and Addyson Elsner, and Morgan Elsner;.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, his son, Douglas Elsner Jr; two brothers, Warren and David; two sisters, Eve and Naomi; and many other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Friends may call at the N.E.W.  Masonic Center, 525 N. Taylor Street, on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  The Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the Masonic Center, with Larry Zochart officiating.
