Patricia Ann “Pat” (Fonferek) Van Lanen, 67, of Green Bay, passed away with family and loved ones by her side on January 2, 2018.  She was born in Green Bay on September 19, 1950, to Norbert and Donna Fonferek.  Patricia married her devoted husband, Lyle Van Lanen, on May 12, 1973, and the two spent 44 loving years together.  


Pat enjoyed league bowling with her husband Lyle, close friends Mike and Char Tursky, her daughter, Christina and friends, along with playing nine pin tournaments with her sons Jeremy and Chad. She lived for doing crafts with all her grandchildren, attending painting classes, helping with sports memorabilia projects with her son Matt and taking multiple family vacations.  Pat and Lyle bonded with their son Chad on their multiple adventurous casino trips ranging from local cities to Nevada. Family holidays were dear to her as well as her weekly movie nights with Lyle and her brother Joe Fonferek.  Pat cherished her family and always went above and beyond as a wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She will be deeply missed by all of those who had the pleasure of having her in their life.


Survivors include her husband, Lyle Van Lanen; five children and their spouses, Melissa Van Lanen and William Arts, Kaukauna; Matthew and Kari Van Lanen, De Pere; Christina and Andrew DeKeuster, De Pere; Jeremy Van Lanen and Jil Shiner, De Pere; Chad Van Lanen and Anne Garcia, De Pere; nine grandchildren, Cassandra, Cayla, Donna, Samantha, Briana, Charley, Parker, Joseph and Isabella; three great-grandchildren Eli, Kelcie and Nicolas; two brothers Milton (Beverly) Fonferek, Norbert Fonferek, Jr. and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.


She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Shawn Van Lanen and her parents, Norbert and Donna Fonferek.


Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, at the church with Rev. Binu Varghese O.
