Mrs. Melvin (Helen Meulemans) Evrard of Green Bay, WI, went to be with her Lord on December 1, 2017. Helen was born on February 13, 1930, in Greenleaf, WI, the daughter of the late George and Barbara (Beining) Meulemans. She graduated from East De Pere High School in the class of 1947. On August 11, 1951, she married Melvin Evrard (the love of her life) at St. Mary's Church in Greenleaf.  They proudly celebrated 63 years of marriage prior to Melvin’s death in 2015.

Helen enjoyed gardening outdoors in her flowers, playing cards, playing bingo, and fishing at her cottage in Door County, where she loved to swing and watch the beautiful sunsets on the bay. She was a kind and generous woman with a big heart and smile, who lived for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, as well as a lifetime member of Catholic Knights (Catholic Financial).

Helen is survived by her five daughters: Kathryn Gass, Green Bay, Jeanne Walker, Houston, TX, Diane Killeen, Glendale, AZ, Sue (Kevin) King, Green Bay, and Mary Kay (Larry) Wilke, Green Bay. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Jason (Michelle) Walker, Chris (Lissette) Walker, Justin (Maggie) Gibeault, Megan (Matt Nelson) Gibeault, Rachael (Jeremy) Grantham, Aaron (Kimberly) Destiche, Daniel Destiche, Carlye King, Margo King, and 11 great grandchildren: Sidney Walker, Fabian Renderos, Dylan Walker, Ashley Walker, Skyler Gibeault, Ariana Gibeault, Hayden Gibeault, Alayna Gibeault, Sawyer Grantham, Emma Destiche, and Isaac Destiche.

Helen is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Stella Bouche, and Laverne VanderHeyden of Green Bay and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear lifelong friends, Regina Everard and Toddy Daanen.

She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Evrard, her parents George and Barbara   Meulemans, her stepmother Elsie, her mother and father-in-law William and Elvira Evrard, her brother and sister-in-law Jerome and Eleanore Meulemans, her sister and brother-in-law Marjorie and Jack Zadrazil, brother-in-laws William Evrard, Jr. and Herman VanderHeyden, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mildred and Richard DeGreef.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, December 7th from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., with a Parish Wake Service starting at 7 p.m.  Visitation will continue Friday, December 8th from Noon until 1 p.m. with the Mass of the Immaculate Conception at 1 p.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Dr., with Rev. Mark VanderSteeg officiating. Burial will be at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
