Alfred "Al" Loritz

Alfred H. “Al” Loritz, 96, Green Bay, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017.  He was born January 17, 1921, to John and Veronica (Heim) Loritz.  After graduating from East High School, Al served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946, stationed in the Philippines during World War II.  On July 27, 1946, he married Marjorie J. Wagner.  Margie preceded him in death March 30, 2015.  He was employed by Wisconsin Public Service for many years as a gas leadman and was a member of the WPS Men’s Club and the Local #310 Union. 

Al was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  Family meant everything to him.  He enjoyed going to his cottage up-north, cutting wood for fires, and watching the bunnies play in the yard.   

He will be missed by his three sons and their spouses, Michael and Carol Loritz, Charles and Deborah Loritz, Timothy Loritz, all of Green Bay; four grandchildren, Karen (Kurt Seebacher) Loritz, David (Elizabeth) Loritz, Rebecca (Jeffrey) Keyser, Carla Loritz; his great-grandchildren, Peyton and Abby Seebacher, Andrew and Gwen Loritz; close family friend, Gary Bentley; one sister and brother-in-law, Bernice and Joseph Mertens; a sister-in-law, Jackie Wagner; nieces and nephews; and his friends at Moraine Ridge. 

In addition to his beloved wife, Al was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, a sister and their spouses, Leonard and Rose Loritz, Marian and John Pierquet, Raymond and Lorraine Loritz; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Howard and Marcy Wagner; and a granddog, Shadow.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Rev. Mark Vander Steeg officiating.  Entombment will be in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.  Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family. 

The Loritz family extends a special thank you to the staff of Autumn’s Promise and Unity Hospice for making Al’s final days dignified and comfortable.
