Yvonne Jean Rivett, 91, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at the Jack and Ingrid Meng Residence. She was born to Ida (Moreau) and Sam Krueger at Bellin Hospital, by Dr. Bellin, on March 29, 1926. She attended Roosevelt Grade School and was a 1944 graduate of East High School. Yvonne worked at Doerings Jewelery Store and the office at Joannes Brothers Grocery Co. On July 21, 1951, she married Robert Rivett; they were married 60 years until his death on September 27, 2011. They both loved dancing to big band music and in their hospitality, they welcomed visitors to a warm meal or satiated a sweet tooth.

Yvonne was a stay-at-home mother, taking great pride in her four children, whom she often expressed how she loved more than anything: Julie (Leif) Rolfsen of Grayslake, IL, Jean (Michelle Mueller) Rivett of Green Bay, Jim (Peter Angilello) Rivett of Green Bay, and John Rivett of Palm Springs, CA. While raising her children, she volunteered at St. Mary’s Roller Rink and St. Mary’s Library. Yvonne loved bowling, watching women’s softball and held a special kinship for dogs and cats. She was also a big fan of Dancing with the Stars. In her later years, she volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul Marking Room, was an avid reader, finishing one or two books a week and enjoyed playing games on her Nook.

Survivors include her children; four grandsons, Scott (Robyn) Georgia, Ryan (Sarah) Georgia, Evan Easterhouse & Bryan (Karlien) Rolfsen, six great-grandchildren, Alexis Georgia, Olivia Georgia, Jack Georgia, Grady Georgia, Logan Georgia and Elliot Rolfsen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents, Ida (Moreau) and Sam Krueger, a brother, Robert Virginia (Ihde) Krueger; a baby sister Lois Krueger, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ralph & Elizabeth Rivett, Walter & Gladys Rivett, Dolores & Fran Vande Hei & Betty & Roland Kellner.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2017, at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, 645 S. Irwin St.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Anthony Cirginani OFM officiating. Burial will be at Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bay Area Humane Society or Happily Ever After Adoption Center.

The family would like to express gratitude and appreciation to the staff of St. Vincent Hospital, Unity Hospice and Dr. Ron Manning for their nurturing care. Yvonne loved the home she resided in the last 64 years, and was grateful for those who enabled her to stay there; from her children for their help around her home, to her wonderful neighbors, Gary and De Arnoldi, who watched over her, and the many others who brought her meals. She will also greatly miss her daily phone calls with her best friend, Carol Paulsen.
