Janice V. (Basten) Baye, 78, a lifelong Green Bay resident, passed away peacefully after a bout with pneumonia at Manorcare West.  She was born June 15, 1939, to the late Louis and Mildred (Delveaux) Basten.  Janice graduated in 1957 from East High School and married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth J. Baye at St. Bernard Catholic Church on May 7, 1960.  The union was blessed with a son, Craig.  Ken preceded her in death February 29, 2000. 

Janice worked for over 30 years at Fort Howard Paper Company and was a member of their 25 Year Club.  She and Ken enjoyed going to their cabin in Crivitz and trips to Door County.  She also enjoyed travelling to Fort Myers, Florida with her sister, tending to her flowers, and spoiling her grandsons. 

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Michelle (Zich) Baye; two grandsons, Casey and Brady Baye, all of Appleton; two sisters, a brother and their spouses, Merce and Denis Maloney, Green Bay; Gary and Judy Basten, Green Bay; Jacki Lamberg, MN; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Beverly Schneider, Bill Fessender, and Eva Baye; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at in the Gathering Space at St. Willebrord Catholic Church, 209 S. Adams St.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the church with Rev. Andrew G. Cribben, O Praem. officiating.  Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
