Mary Jo Owens, 62, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 16, 2017.  She was born in Chicago, IL, on July 7, 1954, to the late Thomas J. and Jean (Murphy) Hamilton.  Mary Jo was a very kind and caring person.  She worked lovingly as a CNA, providing in-home care and plenty of conversation.  She also found an opportunity to serve her community by teaching religious education to youth while her own children were young.  Mary Jo met her husband, John Owens, shortly after he moved to Green Bay for an employment opportunity.   They were married on December 8, 1995.  Mary Jo enjoyed spending her time reading, cooking, and going on walks.  Above anything else, Mary Jo loved spending time with her family or just talking with them on the phone.  She particularly enjoyed utilizing Facetime to connect with her grandchildren.

Mary Jo will be deeply missed by her husband, John; children, Colleen (Ryan) Schmitt and Christopher (Danielle) Cotts; grandchildren, Gianna and Weston Cotts; step-children, Matt (Julie) Owens and Jared Owens; step-grandchildren, Jacob, Britney, Tierra, and Jared Owens; brother, Mark (Pam) Hamilton; sisters, Jean (James) Tufano, Kathryn (Thomas) Koleski, Susan (James) Tumpane, and Julie Hamilton; sister-in-law, Kathleen Hamilton; and many other family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mary Jo is preceded in death by her brother, Thomas M. Hamilton.

Visitation will be at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 S. Oneida St., from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Saturday, May 27, 2017.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Church with Rev. Robert Rank officiating.  Entombment will be in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
