On March 4, 2017, Shirley A. Bohm, with her daughters by her side, closed her eyes and left this world to begin her journey to the other side. Shirley was born May 1, 1937, the first daughter of the late Leo and Elsie (Hoffman) Westenberger. She married Orville Bohm on June 4, 1955. In her life she enjoyed bowling, family gathering, reading and holidays.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Deb (Joe) Leeman, Dawn Phillips, Diana (Todd) Ropson; six grandchildren, Robin (Scott) Schmidt, Jessica (Jared) Carter, Emily (Shawn) Phillips, Tiffany (Dave) Frelich, Erica (Drew) Giese, Tyler Giese; six great grandchildren, Jordan (James) Schmidt, Zach (Mandy) Schmidt, Ryan Schmidt, Caden Schmidt, Paxton Frelich, Calleigh Liderman and great great grandson Beau Stich; three sisters, Eileen (John) Ireland, Rosemarie (Warren) Rusch, Ellen (Tom) Thompson; two brothers, Steven (Judy) Westenberger and David Westenberger. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Orville, mother and father and her brothers, Bob, Ray, Jim, Tom, and Dennis.
Visitation will be held at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., Wednesday, March 8, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at The Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. A memorial is being established. Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.
The family extends a huge heartfelt thank you to Shirley’s personal physician, Dr. Mark Jansen, who helped her through many health issues throughout her life. The family would also like to thank Amanda Enright and Tammy Fox from Asera Care Hospice who showed true compassion in the final weeks of Shirley’s life. “You filled us with so much love, see you on the other side Mom.”
