Mark J. Jacobs, 60, Green Bay, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017. He was born in Green Bay on July 3, 1956, to John and Phyllis Jacobs. Mark married Rose Wolk on September 30, 1989. He was blessed with a son, Jason, on January 18, 1991, and a daughter, Jordan, on May 14, 1994. Mark’s dream job was realized when he bought his comic book store, The Great Escape, in 1996. Mark, forever more to be known as “Gampoo”, experienced a life changing love with the birth of his granddaughter and eternal buddy, Peyton, on August 11, 2011. He closed his store in 2012 so he could help support Peyton and his family. Gampoo loved sports, cooking, taking Peyton on adventures, and collecting comic books.
Mark will be deeply missed by his wife, Rose; children, Jason and Jordan Jacobs; granddaughter, Peyton; mother, Phyllis; a brother, Jeff (Lori) Jacobs; sisters; and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, John.
Visitation will be at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Dr., from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass on Thursday, March 2, 2017. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Church with Rev. Mark Vandersteeg officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.Prokowall.com.
