Wilbert C. Dallmann, 82, Green Bay resident, went to his heavenly home Thursday morning, Jan. 26, 2012, surrounded by his family, at a local hospital.  He was born on Aug. 16, 1929 in the town of Rockland to the late Henry and Emma (Last) Dallmann, Sr.  He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1954.  On Oct. 5, 1957 he married Betty Leuman at Trinity Lutheran of Rantoul.  Wilbert retired after 33 years working as an engineer with the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad Company.  After his retirement, he worked for the Brown County Visitor & Convention Center and PMI for 11 years.  Wilbert loved gardening and fishing at his son’s cabin.  He was an expert handyman.  He also enjoyed reading and playing cards, especially Smear.  His greatest joy was his family.  Wilbert was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church for over 54 years.

 

Survivors include his wife, Betty (Leuman) Dallmann; children, Donna (Jim) Gamble, Dawn (Doug) Wilcox, Dale Dallmann, Dean (Julie) Dallmann; grandchildren, Lauren (Stephen) Thorstensen, Cassie Gamble, Jordan Murphy, Cody and Sean Dallmann; great grandson, Kane Thorstensen.  He is also survived by his sister and brother, Sarah (Sonny) Bratz, and Henry Jr. (Bernita) Dallmann; sisters-in-law, Verona Geiger, Arlene Leuman, Patricia (Leuman) and John Carroll.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Arnold and Viola Leuman; siblings, Hildegard and Elmer Krueger, Carl and Veronica Dallmann, Anita and Clarence Haelfrisch, Madeline Dallmann, Mildred and Victor Watruba; brothers-in-law,  Leslie Leuman, Arnold Leuman Jr. and Earl Geiger Sr.

 

Friends may call on Sunday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 514 S. Clay Street from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.  Funeral Service 3:30 p.m. at the church with Pastor Roy Rose officiating.  Burial at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.  Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Online condolences may be sent to the Dallmann family at www.prokowall.com.

 

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Green Bay.
