Arletta Elizabeth Krouth, 87, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at her home. She was born on November 6, 1924 to the late Henry and Lulu (Zornow) Krouth. After graduating from East High School, she had been employed by Pauly Cheese until her retirement.
Arletta had a green thumb when it came to gardening and took pride in growing the best tomatoes and sharing them with others. She also enjoyed bowling, fishing, bingo and a little gambling. She took pride in her religion, if anybody needed prayers she was the one they asked. Her prayer book was worn thin. She never spent a day in the hospital or took prescribed medicine or had a regular doctor. Among all the family members she was known as “Auntie”.
She is survived by her sister, Lolamae G. Kuhn; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Delores Krouth, Virginia Krouth, Beverly Krouth.
She was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Marcella & Wallace Stoffer, Audrey & Gordon Gilsoul, Aloyus & Edwin O’Leary; brothers, Godfrey, Leslie, Carl Krouth; brothers-in-law, Harvey Counard, Ken Gibson, Wally Kuhn; and her special friend of over 50 years, Donald “Speed” St. Thomas.
Friends and family may call Friday, January 20, from 4- 7 p.m. at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Saturday, from 11- 12 p.m. Funeral service will be at noon with Fr. Patrick Gawrylwski, OFM officiating. Entombment at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
