William L. (Bill) Krutz, 66,Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Sunday January 15, 2012 in his home after a brief battle with cancer. Born December 12, 1945 to the late Leo and Elsie (Hansen) Krutz. Bill graduated from Denmark High School class of 1963. He enlisted in the Air Force and served in Vietnam. In 1970, he married the love of his life Mary E. Greatens at St. Willebrord’s Catholic Church. He was a lifelong member of the VFW Winniecki Post 9677 and the American Legion Sullivan-Wallen Post 11 where he served on both the Color Guard and the Honor Guard. Bill enjoyed bowling, hunting and spending time at the cabin in Silver Cliff. He was a longtime member of Atonemen tLutheran Church.  Many people would remember Bill’s friendly smile and helpful demeanor through his years of apartment maintenance and customer service at local hardware stores. Bill spent his life serving God, family and country.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary; his son William D, Green Bay and daughter Beth Gilbertson, Oak Creek; four grandchildren, Kelli Gilbertson, Oak Creek, Anthony Krutz, Green Bay, Matt Gilbertson, Oak Creek and Kate Gilbertson, Oak Creek; his sister, Marilyn Dobberpuhl and brother, David (Yvonne) Krutz both of DePere; two sisters-in-law Rosalie Maloney and Sharon (Rick Lowe) Whipp, both of Green Bay; nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Al and Ella Greatens; three brothers-in-law: Fredrick Dobberpuhl, James Maloney, and Ray Whipp.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St.after 4:00 pm Thursday until time of service. Funeral Services 7:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Apfel officiating. Full military honors immediately following the funeral at the funeral home. Burial in the West Danish Cemetery, Denmark.
