Arlene M Mahlik, 67,Green Bayresident, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 10, 2012, with her family by her side. She was born February 20, 1944 in Luxemburg to the late Arnold and Leona (Kratz) Mueller. Arlene graduated fromLuxemburgUnionHigh Schoolin 1962. She attended classes at UWGB and the Bellin School of Nursing earning her RN degree in 1975. Arlene married Arnold Mahlik on June 24, 1967 inGreen Bay.

In 1985 she earned her paramedic license, assisting the family business known as Metro Ambulance. Throughout her medical profession she was employed atAlgomaHospital, Wood VA Hospital, West Side Clinic,St. VincentHospitaland Metro Ambulance. In 1992 Arlene foundedExcelDrivingCenterwhich she operated until her illness wouldn’t allow. Since 1977 Arlene had assisted Arnie in operating Medi-Vans ofNortheastern Wisconsin. She loved and adored her family of three sons, enjoying auto racing for the last 18 years as well as snowmobiling, dancing, Badger football and an occasional Sheep Head game. Arlene was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church.

Arlene is survived by her husband, Arnie, of 44 years, their three sons: Doug Mahlik and daughter, Marissa, Eric Mahlik and Nick Mahlik and his fiance’ Kari, all ofGreen Bay. One sister, Lorraine (Dale) Rapin and their children, Melita (Jesse) Hobby and Jeremy Rapin, Stone Mountain, GA; her uncle and aunt, Raymond and Elsie Kratz, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., from 4-8 pm Thursday and again on Friday after 10:00 am at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 120 S. Henry St., until time of funeral. Funeral service 11:00 am Friday at the church with Rev. David Hatch officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepard Mausoleum. Arlene’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Wyndemere Estate and the nurses and staff of Unity Hospice for their care and comfort during Arlene’s illness.
