Hilda Bowers, 96, resident of Green Bay, passed away Friday, January 06, 2012. She was born on March 30, 1915, the daughter of Walter and Mable Marsden in Waupaca County. On June 15, 1940 she married Charles Bowers, with whom she celebrated 54 years together until his death on December 2, 1994. Hilda was an active member of Peace United Methodist Church for 42 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Merridy Bowers, of Green Bay; a nephew, Carlton Marsden, of Wild Rose; nephews and nieces, Elaine and Don Gundecker, Barbara Bowers and Tyler Bowers of Madison, WI.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Leonard and Howard Marsden; a sister-in-law, Aveniel Marsden; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, George and Lora Bowers, Columbus and Lucille Bowers; and a nephew, William Marsden.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Monday at Peace United Methodist Church, 919 Schwartz St. Funeral service 12 noon. Monday at the church with Rev. Russ May officiating.
