Edna Anna Clara (Delzer) Holewinski, 95, Green Bay, passed away on April 9, 2011. Edna was a good friend and neighbor to all. She loved to garden and had a special gift with flowers. She was born on September 4, 1915 in Abrams to Julius and Minnie (Peters) Delzer. She married Edward Holewinski in 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1988 after 47 years of marriage. Edna worked at several neighborhood grocery stores, greenhouses and at Bellin Hospital until her retirement in 1980. She will be remembered for her optimism, humility and the love she mixed with her special sense of humor. She was an active and longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Green Bay.
She is survived by 2 brothers Ervin Delzer and Arthur (Ruth) Delzer, Abrams, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Verna Ostrenga, Little Suamico, Florence (Edwin) Hilbert, Pulaski and Lucy Holewinski, Green Bay, nieces and nephews, Fred Delzer, Ron (Lori) Delzer, Karen (Jim) Jahnke, Bernadine (Al) Gauthier, James Ostrenga, Raymond (Mary) Ostrenga, Barbara (Jim) Van Lannen, Darlene (Carl) Drevs, David (Pat) Klopotek, Wayne Klopotek, Randy (Faye) Holewinski and Beverly (Bob) Schuyler, special friends and neighbors, Steve, Amy, Evan and Jordan Bindas, Pete, Denise, Morgan and Matthew Koss, Gary and Laurie Konop, David and Sylvia Patzlaff, Lynn Hyer, John Drzewiecki, Al and Ruth Matuszak, Shirley Keith and Blanche Dudek as well as many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lorraine "Toots" Delzer, Casey Holewinski, Tony Ostrenga and Violet and Dave Klopotek.
Friends may call at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 514 S. Clay Street, Green Bay on Saturday from 2-4 pm. Funeral Service to follow at 4 pm at the church with Rev. Jon Zabell officiating. Entombment at the Shrine of The Good Shepherd at Nicolet Memorial Gardens. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.
In lieu of flowers and other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established. Family and friends would like to thank everyone at Unity Hospice for their care and compassion given to Edna.
