Irene Marie (Woitula) Zolper Irene died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009 at a local hospital. She was born on Jan. 2, 1929 in Green Bay to the late Joseph Sr. and Pauline (Wertel) Woitula. On Aug. 25, 1951, Irene and Richard Zolper were married at St. Philip the Apostle Church. She was preceded in death by Richard on June 4, 1984. Irene attended St. Philip Grade School and graduated from St. Joseph Academy – class of 1947. Irene was a life-long member of St. Philip Parish and the Ladies Altar Society. She loved her family, grandchildren, old movies and reading. Irene enjoyed ceramics, china painting, making jeweled Christmas balls and Christmas trees. She celebrated Christmas in every room of her home. People enjoyed her yard full of beautiful flowers. Survivors include her daughter, Michele (Paul) Kumbalek and son Michael Zolper, Green Bay, brothers Richard and Carl Woitula and sister Evelyn (Earl) Schoen, Green Bay. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Erma Cravilion and Ruth Zolper; grandchildren Rachele and Chuck (Heather) Timmerman, Nicole and Scott John (Zolper) Kremer; great grandchildren, Abigail,Collin,Kerri and Madeline. She was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, John and Margaret Zolper, two sons Rick and Scott Zolper; her granddaughter Rebecca Timmerman; her brothers Joseph Jr. (Peggy) Woitula, Raymond (Carol) Woitula; two brothers-in-law Earl Zolper and Robert Cravilion; and sister-in-law, Jeanne Woitula. Friends may call at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 312 Victoria Street after 9:30 a.m. Saturday, until time of Mass. Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 Noon on Saturday at the church with Rev. Dave Pleier officiating. Burial in the Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be sent to the Zolper family at www.prokowall.com.
