Mary Jane Lambert, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009 at Santa Maria Nursing Home. She was born on May 15, 1924 in Maple Grove, WI to the late William and Anna (Hill) Buckley. She married Herbert Lambert on Sept. 16, 1950, whom she met at a tavern that her parents owned in Cooperstown, WI. They were married at St. James Church in Cooperstown. Mary Jane graduated from Manitowoc Teacher’s College and taught in a one-room school house in Maple Grove and then went on to teach at St. John the Evangelist Elementary School in Green Bay. Along with teaching, she made a difference by tutoring many children as well. She raised three children, two daughters and a son. She was also instrumental in the lives of her four grandchildren. Time spent with “grandma” is a fond memory that all of her grandchildren cherish. She spent 47 years living and raising a family on Cass Street on the east side of Green Bay. She took pleasure in assisting her husband Herb with many “booyah” parties for friends and family. She also enjoyed the company of friends, neighbors and members of St. Mary of the Angels Parish, where she was an active member for many years. She spoke very fondly of her St. Mary’s family. She is loved and will be missed by many. Left to honor her memory are her husband, Herbert Lambert, Green Bay; two daughters, Sue Lambert, Green Bay, Sandy (Mark) Ritz, Oshkosh, one son, Gary “Butch” (special friend Lori Geyer) Lambert, Green Bay. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jenny (Jim) Blackmore, Madison, WI, Brenda (Andy) Schiessl, Fitchburg, WI, Renee (Doug) Sina, Fitchburg, WI, Cody Lambert, Cornelius, NC; six great-grandchildren, Henry and Harper Blackmore, Anna, Ryan, and Jacob Schiessl, Olivia Sina; one sister-in-law Percy Buckley, Manitowoc; one brother-in-law, Gerald (Loraine) Lambert, Green Bay; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Bill (Jean) and Harold Buckley. Visitation will be held at St. Mary of the Angels Church, 645 S. Irwin Ave. TODAY, Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. with Rev. Tom Wojciechowski OFM officiating. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
