Wayne Roman Duchateau, 65, Athelstane, formerly of Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 24, 2009. He was born on Nov. 27, 1944 in Green Bay to the late George and Agnes (Brunner) Duchateau. Wayne married the former Barbara Blumreich on Oct. 19, 1974 in Seymour, WI. He retired from the City of Green Bay after 28 years and later moved with his wife to Athelstane. Wayne was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, feeding the birds and deer. He also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and spending the winters in Florida for several years. Survivors include his wife, Barb; two daughters, Heather and fiancé Paul Sajdak, Sabrina Duchateau, both of DePere; three sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carol (Don) Umentum, Diane (Bill) Frisque, Pat (Scott) Campbell; one uncle Roman (Janet) Brunner, one aunt, Donna Brunner, nieces, nephews and cousins; a very dear friend who was like a brother to him, Bruce Muller. He was preceded in death by his parents, uncles, and brother-in-law, Robert Blumreich. Friends may call at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 312 Victoria Street on Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. with Rev. Dave Pleier officiating.
