Alvaro “Jeff” Aviles, 60, Green Bay resident, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 20, 2009. He was born March 27, 1949 in Uvalde, TX to the late Patricio and Alicia (Torres) Aviles. Jeff married the former Judy Demeny on Oct. 11, 2002. He was a Vietnam veteran having served his country from May 3, 1966 to Dec. 5, 1968. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, watching the Green Bay Packers and telling jokes. Through the years he overcame many obstacles with a positive outlook and sense of humor. He touched the lives of many and developed great friendships along the way. He was a member of Holy Cross Parish. He is survived by his wife, Judy; one son Geraldo, Green Bay; and a special grandson, Tony, Green Bay; brothers and sisters: Omar (Susan) Aviles, Arroyo Grande, CA; Danny (Terry) Aviles, Racine, WI; Gilda (John) Sebeck, Chicago, IL; Randy Aviles, Racine, WI; Anna Maria (Jeff) Gillespie, Chicago, IL; Julie Rodriguez, Chicago, IL; Jose (Mary) Rodriguez, Chicago, IL; Christopher Villar, Chicago, IL; Antonio (Marilyn) Villar, Chicago, IL; Ernesto (Molly) Aviles, TX; Arthuro (Helen) Aviles, Racine, WI; Adam (Delia) Aviles, TX; Avery Aviles, Grand Rapids, MI. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Larry (Paula) Demeny, Luxemburg, WI; Tom (Theresa) Demeny, Luxemburg, WI; Dan (Tracy) Demeny, New Franken, WI; his sister-in-law, Sue Demeny, Algoma, WI; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Adrian and Corry, father and mother-in-law, Robert and Martha Demeny, brother-in-law, Rick Demeny, and niece, Maria Alicia Ivel. Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Parish Wake Service 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 10-11am at Holy Cross Church, 3009 Bay Settlement Road.
