Frank J. Butrymowicz, 83, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008. He was born August 24, 1925 in Two Rivers, WI to the late John and Margaret (Wengrzyn) Butrymowicz. Frank graduated from Washington High School, Two Rivers, in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps for three years. He attended UW Madison, graduating with a civil engineering degree in June 1950. Frank married La Verne Buenzow, his wife of 58 years, in July 1950 at St. Luke´s in Two Rivers. They lived in Milwaukee where he worked as an engineer for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. In 1953 he was transferred to the Green Bay division. While there, Frank was proud of his work as Project Engineer of the Allouez-Ashwaubenon Bridge, Tilleman Bridge and Tower Drive Bridge. After 36 years, he retired in 1987. After retiring Frank enjoyed traveling, biking, gardening and volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul. He was a wonderful father and grandfather. He loved to spend time with his family and will be remembered for his sense of humor. Frank is survived by his wife, LaVerne; two sons, Gary (Debra) Butrymowicz, Cave Creek, AZ; Dale (Amy) Butrymowicz, Enfield, CT; two daughters, Audrey (Paul) Nistler, Brillion, WI; Kristel (John Lagerman) Menomonee Falls, WI; eleven grandchildren: Kristy (Abe) Kamarck, Paul (Megan) Nistler, Chelsea and Briana Nistler, Angela (Kirk) Grossnickle, Jordan (Cristin) Lagerman, Vanessa Lagerman, Emily (Geoff) Geyer, Claire (Brian) Sniffen, Daniel and Sarah Butrymowicz; three great grandsons: Mateo and Vincent Kamarck, Levi Nistler. He is also survived by his sister, Sister Mary Christella, Chicago, IL; his brother John Butrymowicz, Green Bay; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Sekora, brother-in-law,Ted Sekora and sister-in-law, Dorothy Butrymowicz. Friends may call at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 312 Victoria St., on Thursday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. with Rev. Dave Pleier officiating. Entombment in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be sent to Frank´s family at www.prokowall.com. Frank spent his final days under the care of the special staff at Century Ridge Homes and Unity Hospice. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations in Frank´s name be made to the Alzheimer´s Association or Unity Hospice. Frank is now busy building bridges in heaven…
