Dorothy M. Hilke, 85, Allouez resident, died Tuesday Morning, September 22, 2009 at a local hospital. She was born May 12, 1924 in Marinette, WI to the late Herman and Olivia (Karr) Magle. Dorothy married Sylvester “Mike” Hilke on May 31, 1952 at First United Methodist in Marinette. He preceded her in death on November 28, 2003. She loved music and was a regular member of the church choir for many years. Dorothy was a league bowler for many years at Western Lanes and the Golden Bowl and always had time for a good book. She took great joy in babysitting, not only her grandchildren but neighborhood children as well. Dorothy was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Green Bay.
Survivors include, 1 daughter, Mary (Steve) Unger, Pulaski; 2 sons, Joseph (Ann) Hilke, Plymouth, WI; Charles (Michelle) Hilke, Green Bay; 6 grandchildren, Paul and Laura Unger; Jennifer and Michelle Hilke; Mitchell and Ryan Hilke; 1 brother-in-law, George Hilke, Green Bay; 5 sisters-in-law, Elaine Hilke, Green Bay, Jeanette Hilke, Green Bay, Lucille Dudkeiwicz, Green Bay; Pearl Magle, Fox Valley and Annabelle Prince, Menominee, MI.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert Magle and Elmer Magle; and “sister”, Gerda “Jerry” Olsen.
Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., after 3 p.m. Thursday until the time of service. Funeral service 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev.
