Audrey M. Behnke, 78, Green Bay, passed away September 7, 2008 at a local hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born September 20, 1929 to the late Edwin and Augusta (Hofmann) Paul, and raised in Coleman, WI. On Aug. 12, 1950 she married Loren Behnke, son of the late Edward and Frieda (Runke) Behnke. Together they raised six children. Audrey was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Audrey was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling and visiting with her family and friends.
She will be dearly missed by her six children and their spouses, Kathleen (Paul) Kersten, Bonnie (Michael) Kersten, both of DePere; Rick (Diane) Behnke, Gurnee, IL; Warren (Connie) Behnke, Lorna (Ronald) La Plante, both of Green Bay; and Lori (Dennis) Arveson, Denmark; nine grandchildren, Richard (Jana), Robert (Holly) and Loni La Plante, Brian Behnke, Dennis Kersten, Nicole and Aaron Behnke, Jeffry and Anthony Arveson; five step-grandchildren, Gina, Lisa, Michelle Kersten, Tami (Steve) Schroeder, and Jennifer (Jeff) Deneys; and seven step-great-grandchildren Joseph, Brynna, Kelsey, Lindsay, Janelle, Tristan and Gage; two sisters-in-law Karen Paul and Ethel Brouette; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She now joins in Heaven her loving husband Loren, her parents; her mother-and father-in-law; two brothers and sister-in-law Roland and Donna Paul, Donald Paul, sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Fred Letzner, Harold Brouette; one son-in-law, Dean Rayner.
Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services Friday at 11 a.m. at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 120 S. The family would like to express a thank you to the staff at Bellin Hospital´s Emergency Room and also to the 2nd floor staff for all of their care and kindness. A special thanks also to the staff at Anna´s House for all their special care and friendship given to Audrey over the past two years. It was greatly appreciated by the family.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy a memorial fund is being established in Audrey´s name.
