John Molik, 92, Green Bay resident, died Sunday, September 6, 2009 at an area nursing home. He was born Feb. 6, 1917 in Chicago to the late Kazmir and Sophia (Twardzik) Molik. On January 2, 1960, John married the former Marion Rowell in Green Bay. John served in the U.S. Army’s 32nd Infantry Division during WWII. During WWII, John was shipped to the Pacific War Zone and was involved in battles in the southern Philippines, Luzon and New Guinea. He drove a large supply truck on the steep and winding Villa Verde Trail in the dark to avoid Japanese patrols in the area. John was awarded the Bronze Star for his five years of service in the U.S. Army. After his service in the military, John worked for Norcor Manufacturing in Green Bay until his retirement. John enjoyed gardening, carpentry projects and a good joke. Survivors include his wife, Marion; his brothers and sisters, Francis (Domicelle) Molik, Green Bay; Peter (Micheline) Molik, Green Bay; Paul (Jeannine) Molik, Green Bay; Lorraine (Ken) Schenian, Waukesha; Rita (Leland) Doherty, De Pere; sister-in-law, Patricia Molik, Green Bay. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Sophie Molik, Helen Bettis, Irene Schweiner; and two brothers Jerome Molik and Edward Molik. Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. on Thursday (TODAY) from 5 to 7 p.m. Parish wake service 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary of the Angels Church, Corner of Cass and Irwin, with Rev.
