Joan Van Boxel, 62, Green Bay resident, died August 8, 2010 at a local hospital, following a short battle with cancer. She was born September 16, 1947, in Green Bay, to the late Milton and Jane (Piron) Kitts. Joan married Daniel Van Boxel August 8, 1969. She was employed by the Green Bay Public School System from 1991 to the present. She worked at Green Bay East High School as the career coordinator. Joan enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Her favorite destination was New York. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Daniel, Green Bay; two children, Hope (Brad) Nesper, Brillion; Jacob Van Boxel, Green Bay; three grandchildren, Andrew, Braedy, and Lily. She is also survived by one brother, Bruce (Cheri) Kitts, Green Bay. Friends may call at Living Hope Church, 1840 W. Mason Street on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Funeral Service at 12 noon at the church with Pastor Tracy Medd and Pastor Jerry Bruette officiating. Entombment will be at Allouez Catholic Chapel Mausoleum. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
