Janice C. Smith, 70, Green Bay, passed away on July 27, 2010 after a short illness. Jan was born on April 11, 1940 in Green Bay to the late Curtiss and Geraldine (Hager) Burkel. She was a graduate of Green Bay East, Class of 1958. On August 11, 1962 she married Eugene A Smith and he preceded her in death on July 31, 1999. She enjoyed Packers, Badgers and Notre Dame football as well as watching Tiger Woods play golf. She also enjoyed babysitting area children in her home for many years. Her family and those children were her joy. She is survived by her children; Shari Smith, Carol Smith of Green Bay and Patrick (Ann) Smith, Allouez, 3 grandchildren, Ashley, Russell and Zachary Smith, 1 sister and 1 brother as well as many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sister Shirley (Robert) Erickson, mother-in-law and father-in-law Ernest and Effie Smith. Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 East Mason Street, on Friday from 4-7 pm. Funeral Service at 7 pm at the funeral home. Entombment at Fort Howard Memorial Park. The family would like to thank Dr. Mary Sauvey and her staff for the care given to mom.
