Robert “Bob” J. Ebeling, 85, Green Bay resident, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday evening, July 15, 2010. He was born on June 15, 1925 to the late Roy and Laura (Desotell) Ebeling in Green Bay. On January 15, 1946, he married the former Doris Barrette at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper during WWII; receiving the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Bob worked for the Brown County Hwy. Dept. for over 30 years, in the sign dept. He enjoyed being outdoors, spending time with family at the cottage in Florence, WI, especially hunting, fishing, berry picking and cutting wood. He liked to collect antiques. Bob would pass the time watching old western movies and listening to classic country music.
He is survived by his children, Mike (Jody) Ebeling, Patricia (Dan) Wilson, and Mary (Harvey Losinski) Bruskiewicz, all of Green Bay; grandchildren, Missy (John) Benedetto, Robert (Fiancée, Michelle) Verhagen, Tammy (Jeremiah) Schweitzer and Tim Bruskiewicz; two great-grandchildren, Alicia Benedetto and Joshua Schweitzer; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; son, James; son-in-law, Ralph Bruskiewicz, and brother, Merlin Ebeling.
Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Monday after 3 p.m. until the time of service. Funeral service 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established.
