Albert P. Gouin, 82, Bellevue resident, died early Saturday morning July 5, 2008 at his home following a brief illness. He was born in Isabella, MI April 26, 1926 to the late Oliver and Mary (Turan) Gouin. Albert served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1944 until his discharge in 1946. He married the former Fern Cayemberg on August 3, 1946 in Nahma, MI. Albert was employed by VanBoxtel Ford from 1950 until his retirement in 1985. He worked as a mechanic and served as president of the local UAW. Following retirement he drove vehicles for Dorsch Ford. Albert was a member of the D.A.V. and the American Legion. He was dedicated to his family and enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. Albert was a member of Resurrection Parish
He is survived by his wife Fern and their 10 children; Bob (Connie) Gouin, Mary Greenwood, Ron (Diane) Gouin, Susan (Gary) Mikol, Linda (Ken) Herman, Dave (Mary Jo) Gouin, Mike (Susan ) Gouin, Sally (Rocky) Heiser, Tom Gouin and Patty (Bob) Belter; All of Green Bay. 29 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. 1 brother, Johnny Gouin, Kalamazoo, MI; 1 sister, Rosie Pilon, Isabella, MI.
He was preceded in death by 1 grandchild, Elizabeth; 1 son-in-law, John; 9 brothers and 1 sister.
Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. from, 4-8pm Monday and after 9:30am Tuesday at Resurrection Catholic Church 333 Hilltop, until the time of mass. Parish wake service 7:30 pm Monday. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Paul Demuth and Rev. Patrick Beno concelebrating. Entombment to follow in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Online condolences may be sent to the Gouin family at www.prokowall.com. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy a memorial fund has been established in Albert´s name.
