Gordon "Butch" C. Larsen, 86, Green Bay, went to be with his Lord on June 25, 2008, peacefully surrounded by his family. He was born March 23, 1922 in Green Bay to the late George and Anna (Ankerson) Larsen. On May 5, 1951 he married the former Nancy Schlies in Denmark, WI. Butch worked for Schuster´s Redi-Mix for many years. In 1968, he co-founded Green and Gold Concrete, Inc. along with friend, Elmer Christman and nephew, Glen Larsen. He was a member of the Sound Shot Club hunting cabin of Beecher, WI for over 50 years. His hobbies included watching horse-pulling contests and sporting events. Butch was a lifetime Brewers and Packers fan. He was an active member at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, serving as vice-president, usher and elder, and member of the building committee.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy; children, Susan (Donald) Van Winkle, Racine, WI; Sandra Larsen, Lindenhurst, IL; Amy (Dave) Tillmann, Green Bay; Beth (Tom) Hrdlick; Brookfield, WI; Galen Larsen, Denmark, WI; and George (Lisa) Larsen, Arlington Heights, IL; 11 grandchildren: Jason, Danielle, Joshua, Ross, Taylor, Gabrielle, Madeleine, George, Chase, Jack, Augustin; 2 great-grandchildren: Cassandra and Skylee. He is further survived by one brother, Bernard (Bud) Larsen, Denmark, WI; sisters-in-law, June Larsen, Denmark, WI and Deb Schlies, Brillion, WI; brother-in-law, Harris Schlies, Manitowoc, WI; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Leola Erickson, Fern Spain, Inez Peterson, Arline Peterson, Elinor Hansen and Priscilla Schlies; brothers, Russell, Gilbert and Ray Larsen; sisters and brothers-in-law.
Friends may call Saturday from 9 to 11 A.M. at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 120 S. Henry St.. Funeral 11 AM at the church with Rev. Dave Hatch officiating.
