Mildred M. Besserdich, 94,Overland Park, Kansas, formally of Green Bay, died March 26, 2010. She was born on September 30, 1915 to the late Joseph and Francis (Cherney) Stodola. She married Orrin Besserdich on June 5, 1948; he later died on July 24, 1995. Mildred graduated from Kewaunee High School and Door-Kewaunee Normal Teachers College. She worked at Manitowoc Ship Building as a secretary prior to marrying Orrin. She was a lifelong homemaker.
Mildred enjoyed bridge, golf, cooking, as well as family weekends at their cottage in Door County, WI. She also enjoyed time spent with her husband while playing in a number of orchestras and bands. She was a former member of Woodside Women’s Golf Club and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Following the death of her husband, Mildred enjoyed her later years with family in Leawood, KS.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sue and David Ewald of Leawood, Kan. and three grandchildren, Adam Ewald of Rochester, Minn., Matthew Ewald of Topeka, Kan., and Sue Schneider of Appleton, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Friends may call at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 312 Victoria St., on Saturday after 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. at the church with Rev.
