William A. Treml, 89, Green Bay resident, died Sunday evening, March 7, 2010 at a local hospital. William was born on June 23, 1920 in the town of Glenmore to the late Frank and Katherine (Schaetz) Treml. On June 5, 1946, he married the former LaVerne VandenBerg at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Green Bay. He was an avid bowler, gardener and golfer. William was very talented at tatting, an artistic form of needlework and stitching. He grew up on the farm and later honed his skills as a carpenter; he was a hard worker. William was a lifelong member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, LaVerne, Green Bay; children, Joseph (Katherine) Treml, Suamico, James Treml, Green Bay, Judith (Daniel) Schlader, Green Bay, John (Catherine) Treml, CA and Jane (Ray) Newman, Denver, CO; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Raymond Ebben.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, George, Leo, Frank and Henry Treml; and sisters, Rose Przybelski and Tillie Mader.
Friends may call at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 312 Victoria St., on Thursday after 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. at the church with Rev. David Pleier officiating. Burial in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established.
