Delores "Dee; Dolly" Julia (O'Donnell) McClary, 80, of Winter Haven, FL, died Friday, March 5, 2010 at Unity Hospice in Green Bay, WI. She was born April 9, 1929 in Port Ewen, NY to the late Patrick and Marie (Wouters) O'Donnell. Dee was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She served in the U.S. Navy from March 28, 1950 until her honorable discharge on July 22, 1952. While in the Navy, she served in Pensacola, FL and Norfolk, VA as an Aerographer's Mate Third Class. Dee married John "Jack" McClary on December 8, 1951 in Pensacola. They spent 58 years together living in Virginia, New York, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Illinois, Wisconsin and Florida. She loved the outdoors and was a prolific gardener, creating many beautiful flower beds at their homes in Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills, IL. Dee was an avid reader and enjoyed golfing with Jack in their later years. Dee is survived by her husband Jack, and sons, John (Patti) McClary, Jr. and Steve (Anne) McClary; granddaughters, Meagan, Erin, Christine, Jill, Lindsey and Samantha; and great-grandchildren, Caitrin, Sofia and Owen. She is further survived by brothers, Frank (Ginny) and Mike (Shirley) O'Donnell; sisters, Marie "Tootie" Kelekian, Pat Groppuso and Nancy O'Donnell; and sister-in-law, Bev O'Donnell. Dee was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Sarah and Katherine "Katie"; brother, John O'Donnell; and brothers-in-law, Dick Kelekian and Mike Groppuso. In honor of Dee’s wishes, family services will be held this summer in Kohler, WI. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
