Alden Van Iten, 92, Green Bay resident, passed away early Wednesday morning, March 5, 2008, after a short illness. Alden was born in Green Bay January 24, 1916 to the late John and Celia (Gilsoul) Van Iten. On June 15, 1940 he married Virginia Ciha at St. Edwards Church in Mackville, WI. He was a member of St. Willebrord Parish. Alden enjoyed bowling, golf and horseshoes. He was also a Packer, Brewer and Cub fan. Alden retired from Procter & Gamble in 1976. He is survived by his wife Virginia, of 67 years; David (Kathy) Van Iten and their children, Benjamin and Kristin; Dennis (Cindy) Van Iten and their children, Adam and Elizabeth; Mary Ellen Mocco and her daughter, Jeannie (Ray) Zukauskas and their son, Jonas; two step-grandchildren, Nick and Alex Zukauskas; one brother, Merlin (Rita) Van Iten; two brothers-in-law, Herman Ciha and Vernon Jochman; one sister-in-law, Geraldine Withagen. Gathering time with family and friends will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Willebrord Catholic Church, 209 S. Adam St.. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 a.m. at the church. Burial in Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family. The family would like to thank Parkview Manor and Unity Hospice for their wonderful care.
