Karin Kaye Ashford (Crooks), 61, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at home with her daughter and sister by her side after a long fought battle with cancer. She was born December 25, 1948 in Green Bay, to the late James C. and Kathleen (Hodgins) Crooks. She was a graduate of Preble High School, Class of 1967. At the time of her diagnosis, she worked for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Karin enjoyed reading and playing board games with her family. She also enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, Kaitlin.
Survivors include her daughter, Nicole (Kevin) Vanden Avond, Casco; granddaughter, Kaitlin Vanden Avond; sister, Sandi Crooks (Paul Andrews), Clayton, MO; brother-in-law, Irv Yaggie, Iron Mountain, MI and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, J. Ted and Kenneth Crooks; and grandparents, Lloyd and Beatrice Hodgins and George and Mary Crooks.
Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. from 10am-12noon Saturday. Memorial Service 12noon at the funeral home with Chaplain Amy Waelchli officiating.
