Marcella M. Knapowski, 95, Green Bay, formerly of Chicago and Naperville, IL, died Monday morning, February 8, 2010 at a local care facility. She was born on August 23, 1914 to the late Peter and Mary (Muchowski) Jurczykowski in the town of Humboldt. Marcella moved to Chicago at the age of 16 where she met William Knapowski and on Nov. 26, 1938 they were married. He preceded her in death August 22, 2005. Together they made Chicago their home until 1985, they then moved to Naperville, living there until 2001. She has since lived in Green Bay. Marcella is a lifetime member of the AT&T Pioneers. Survivors include her two children, Joyce (Leland) Jauquet, Green Bay, and William T. (Mary) Knapowski, Sugar Grove, IL; eight grandchildren, John (Shirley) Jauquet, Marcia (Keith) Knoebel, Major Thomas (Stephanie) Jauquet, Marilee (Christopher) Jessup, Jamie (Brandon) Finkenhoefer, Michelle (Michael) True, Katie (Christopher) O’Neill and Nicole Jauquet (fiancée, Jon Doden); great grandchildren, Michael Knoebel, John Jauquet, Jr, Charles Jauquet, Nicholas Knoebel, Andrew Knoebel, William Jessup, Samuel Jessup, Zakariah Jessup, Kendall Finkenhoefer, Sebastian Jauquet, Rowan True, Peyton Finkenhoefer, Zoe Jessup, Stella Jauquet, Sage True and Baby O’Neill; brothers, Nick Joski and Chester Joski; sister-in-law, Sylvia Joski. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Celia Ponka, Agatha Van Pay, Jean Dolan and Delores Theisen; brothers, Harry, Isadore, Edward, Walter, Benjamin, Richard and Raymond and many brothers and sisters-in-law. Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. Parish wake service 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday after 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, corner of 9th and 12th Streets, until the time of service. Mass of Christian of Burial 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. Timothy Brandt officiating. Entombment in Allouez Catholic Chapel Mausoleum.
