Robert P. Riggle, 78 Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Jan. 24, 2010 with his family by his side. He was born Nov. 27, 1931 in Bruceville, IN to the late William and Mary (Burress) Riggle. On Aug. 11, 1953 he married Bonnie Atkinson. She preceded him in death on Feb. 6, 2003. On Nov. 27, 2004 he married Constance “Connie” Gardner at Bethany United Methodist Church in Green Bay. Robert worked as a truck driver for KI until his retirement. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He was a Civil War history buff. Bob especially enjoyed time spent with his family, particularly his grandchildren; traveling to Florida; breakfast with his friends at Julie’s; Friday fish fries, and feeding humming birds in his yard. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #801, the American Legion Post 11, and Bethany United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his spouse, Connie Riggle; children: Max (Betty) Riggle, Green Bay; Nancy (Todd) Zippel, Gillett; Michelle (Dave) Demeuse, Green Bay; step-children: Michael (Kimberly) Gardner, Green Bay; Renee (Dan) Wadle, Green Bay; Ray (Colleen) Gardner, Theresa; grandchildren: Bill (Nikki) Riggle, Andy, Erin, and Robert Riggle; Bob (Cory) McInnis; Tom (Hollee) McInnis; Ian and Amber McInnis; Brandon and Derek Demeuse; Nicole and Ryan Gardner; Andrew and Anna Wadle; Jacob and Megan Bodden; Kaylee Gardner; great grandchildren: Kevon and Brock Riggle and Berkley McInnis. He is also survived by one brother, Donald Riggle, Vincennes, IN; two sisters, Norma Blacketer, Vincennes, IN; Marilyn (Bob) Grigsby, Sandborn, IN; one sister-in-law, Virginia Jones, Rochester Hills, MI; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and first wife Bonnie, he was preceded in death by an infant brother and his grandson, Nicholas Riggle.
Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. American Legion service 6:15 p.m., Moose Lodge service 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Bethany United Methodist Church, 1110 Echo Lane, Green Bay. Funeral at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Randy Richter officiating.
