Robert A. Reince, 84, Green Bay resident, died peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010 at his home. He was born Aug. 17, 1925 in Green Bay to the late Oliver and Cecile (La Roche) Reince. Robert graduated from SS. Peter and Paul Grade School, Catholic Central High School and graduated from Marquette University in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1944 until his honorable discharge in 1946. While in service he was proud to serve under General Patton in the 95th Division, known as “Iron Men of Metz”. Robert married the former Mary Landreman on May 10, 1958 at Annunciation Catholic Church.
He was employed by Farmers Insurance for 30 years as an adjuster until his retirement in 1990. He was an active member of St. Philip the Apostle Parish.
He is survived by his wife Mary and their four children, David (Dana) Reince, Florence, SC; Jean (Stuart) Schwartz, Littleton, CO; Donna (Brian) Braun, Highlands Ranch, CO; Joanne Reince, Westminster, CO; 7 grandchildren: Brayden and Lauren Reince; Emma and Jack Schwartz; Laura, Samantha and Mackenzie Braun; and one brother, Milton (Marie) Reince, Green Bay. He was preceded in death by one infant brother, Jimmy Reince.
Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. on Friday, from 5 to 7 p.m. Parish Wake Service 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 312 Victoria St. from 10 to 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. Dave Pleier officiating. Entombment in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Full military honors to follow at the church after Mass. Online condolences may be sent to the Reince family at www.prokowall.com.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy a memorial fund has been established in Robert’s name.
