Michael (Mike) John Marchant, 42, Windsor, WI, passed away peacefully on Jan. 8, 2010 at his childhood home in Green Bay, surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on Dec. 27, 1967, in Green Bay, he is the son of Jake and Mary Ann (Nys) Marchant. Mike was a graduate of Abbott Pennings High School in DePere and attended UW-Stevens Point. Mike was employed as a field technician for PAETEC – a job he excelled at and enjoyed. Mike’s passions included downhill skiing, playing with his beloved chocolate lab Ginger, spending time relaxing and fishing at the cottage on White Potato Lake, as well as being a huge Packers fan. He is survived by his parents, Jake and Mary Ann, Green Bay; three sisters, Brenda Ray, Verona, Lori Bell, Chesterfield, MO and CJ, Verona; four nieces and nephews, Nate and Emma Ray, and Maddie and Jake Bell; paternal grandmother, Agnes Marchant (Van Egeren), Green Bay; and his sweetheart, Jess Anderson, Madison. Mike was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Gordon and Emily (Kukla) Nys; paternal grandfather, Harry Marchant; uncles, Gene Nys, and Al Malcore; and cousin Molly Olson. Visitation will be held at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., Green Bay, Saturday, January 16 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. with a celebration of Mike’s life at 5:15 p.m. with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating. Mike, you have touched all of our lives and you will always be remembered and missed. The family would like to thank the compassionate staff from Unity Hospice, in particular, nurses Vicki and Karen. A special thank you to our many family and friends who have been so supportive during Mike’s illness.
