Sheila Colleen Knuth, 62, Allouez passed away on January 2, 2009 with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Sheila was born on April 22, 1947 in Maribel to the late Kenneth and Dorothy (Bradley) Dewane. She was a graduate of Denmark High School, received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh and her Masters degree from Cardinal Stritch College. She was a former employee of St. Joseph Home for Boys but spent most of her career employed with St. Vincent Hospital as a Social Worker, finishing her career as Director of the Children With Special Health Care Needs Program. Sheila’s grandchildren were the pride of her life. She also loved time with her friends, reading and going to rummage sales. She will be sadly missed by her children Christopher Knuth, De Pere and Megan (Tom) Ristow, De Pere, grandchildren, Jack, Will and Charlie Ristow, brother Glen (Shirley) Dewane, Maribel, sister Maureen (Greg) Sinkler, Green Bay, God-daughter Amy Sinkler-Schuessler as well as many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband Wayne Knuth. Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 East Mason Street, from 4-8 pm on Monday. Parish Prayer Service at the funeral home at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue from 9:30-10:30 am Tuesday at church. Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Lane, Allouez on Tuesday at 10:30 am with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating. Interment at St. James Catholic Church Cemetery in Cooperstown. The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Green Bay Oncology and Unity Hospice. A special thank you to our many family and friends who have been so supportive during Sheila’s illness.
